Decision Support System for Youth Well Being Phase II

The development of comprehensive, accurate, and low-cost systems to monitor the well being of children and aolescents is a fundamental prerequisite to achieving a healthy society. The Decision Support System for Youth Well Being (DSS-YWB) is an Internet-based interactive system that will support and document the decision-making process at the school, community, and county level to achieve publicly valued outcomes for youths.

The DSS-YWB tools will allow the user to:

1. Collect and explore measures of the prevalence of healthy and harmful behaviors for a chosen group.
2. Choose behaviors to change and set targets for the degree of change desired.
3. Use a Program Finder to compare and choose evidence-based programs relevant to the chosen behaviors, based on agency ratings and the real world experiences of actual users.
4. Assess the effect of programs on the behaviors with respect to the targets and make changes if required.
5. Record and report progress and outcomes to third parties.
